Finally confirmed in the Social Security Death Index: Oscar Brodney died on February 12, six days short of his 101st birthday.
Among many other credits, Brodney wrote or co-wrote "Mexican Hayride," "Harvey," several Francis the Talking Mule pictures, "Walking My Baby Back Home," "The Glenn Miller Story," "Sign of the Pagan," "Tammy and the Bachelor" and its sequels, and multiple episodes of "It Takes a Thief."
