Either way, Sikes didn't do any of the two, and according to the
reports only stepped hard on the brake with both feet until it started to
slow to 50mph, and only then did he put it into neutral.

My subway stop. (Although I'm in Africa at the moment.) What pisses
me off about this story is that the ORIGINAL reporting intimated that
the accident involved kids horsing around from the local school (My
kids and I attended) on their way home. UPTOWN. It had a racist
tinge to it. And now it looks like it had nothing to do with kids.

It's be pretty easy to fake that by flooring the accelerator and riding
the brake, but not hard enough to stop the car. Wouldn't take long for
the brakes to overheat and stink.
I wonder if Toyota's recent troubles will motivate them to include
"black box"-like logging in the ECU of driver inputs including pedal

Motorcycles have had ignition kill switches for decades. I think that
we are going to see those come to automobiles pretty soon
